
About Me
Chaimae Chouiekh is a Moroccan multimedia journalist currently based in Canada. She holds a Master's of Journalism from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a double concentration in Finance and Mathematics from Al Akhawayn University.
Chaimae is the recipient of the 2024 Jack Webster Student Journalist of BC Award and is a 2024-25 Global Reporting Program Fellow. She is comfortable with all mediums (audio, digital, print, and video). In her reporting, she likes to focus on topics related to marginalized communities, international politics, economics, global affairs, and social justice.
Her journalism appears in CBC Radio, CBC News, The Globe and Mail, Global BC News, The/La Source Newspaper, and The Ubyssey.
She speaks Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.
